For nearly four decades Surreal Studios has housed master tapes for clients and held a collection of recordings especially for duplication. Part of the Archive project is identifying and locating the artists. Hundreds of hours of these recordings exist - first generation copies of master tapes. Many are in encoded digital form and must be restored with very specific software which is no longer supported. All of these recordings are designated to be digitized and safely archived.
